The Population Balance Modeling GmbH was incorporated in June 2018 as a response to the demand of both industrial and academic bodies and to make available to the industry and academia communities the population balance modeling framework with up to date and well-established population balance solvers and models which are developed and tested by Prof. Dr. Ing. Menwer Attarakih.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Menwer Attarakih is currently a staff member of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Jordan and has spent many regular research stays as a visiting professor at the Chair of Thermal Process Engineering (TVT) at the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany, and since then has been carrying out intensive research on population balance modeling with the group of Prof. Dr. Ing. Hans-Jörg Bart at TUK/Kaiserslautern, the Department of Applied Mathematics and Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM). He was the Director of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Centre, the chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering, and vice dean of School of Engineering for Accreditation and Quality Affairs.

PPBDesigner software is the first module for modeling and simulation of liquid-liquid extraction processes using population balances which is implemented in MATLAB and deployed in DWSIM Pro, the commercial sibling of DWSIM the leading open-source process simulator.

It is integrated into DWSIM Pro and Simulate 365 – the simulation framework for the chemical, pharmaceutical, and life science industries.

CGC Capital-Gain Consultants GmbH manages software development and integration.
